The Israeli authorities have warned the United States that, if necessary, the Jewish state can launch a unilateral attack on the territory of Iran, without the participation of Washington. This was reported by the Israeli newspaper The Jerusalem Post, referring to its sources.
According to the newspaper, representatives of the Ministry of Defense of Israel passed the relevant information to Pentagon officials last week. The Israeli side presented to Washington its plans for possible strikes, which can be carried out under certain conditions, related to Iran's ballistic missile program.
"We have informed the Americans that we will strike alone if Iran crosses the red line defined by us regarding ballistic missiles," one of the sources of the Israeli military and political leadership told the newspaper. According to him, currently Israel does not see conditions for a direct strike, but continues to monitor the situation. During the dialogue with Washington, the representatives of the Jewish state emphasized that they maintain their freedom of action towards Iran.
