Public administration specialist, economist Hovhannes Avetisyan, who was arrested yesterday and then released,writes:
"Arresting me on baseless charges (allegedly suspected of possessing illegal weapons) is part of the political repression of this government, with which they are trying to intimidate and silence me.
Searches (car and apartment) did not find any illegal weapons or other objects in my possession.
Considering the illegal arrests of many Armenian youths and the political repression against them, I ask you to organize a press conference tomorrow morning, during which I will present three messages addressed to the Police, the US Ambassador to Armenia, and the youth of Armenia."
