Russian President Vladimir Putin's talks in the Kremlin with US President's Special Envoy Steven Witkoff and Donald Trump's son-in-law Jared Kushner, who was mostly presented as an "entrepreneur" in news reports, were meaningful, constructive, most sincere and reliable. Yuri Ushakov, assistant to the Russian President, gave such an assessment to the journalists based on the results of the meeting. However, the parties have not yet managed to reach an agreement on the main issue, the territorial issue.
As the assistant of the Russian president told, during the negotiations with the American emissaries, "it was again noted that without a solution to the territorial issue, based on the resolution agreed in Anchorage, it is difficult to achieve a long-term settlement in Ukraine."
It should be noted that Josh Grubaum, the senior adviser of the White House, joined the contacts between Putin and the American emissaries for the first time.
He had already participated in the Russian-American consultations, which were held at a lower level in Miami (Florida). This clearly shows that in addition to the general outlines of the future peace agreement, some details were also discussed, which are not being reported to the public for now.
The negotiation process is gaining new momentum and is taking turns. How far is the final decision? The situation at the front and the instructions of the Commander-in-Chief give grounds for asserting that the solution of this issue will be in the hands of the Russian side.
