Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan will represent Turkey in the "Peace Council" organized by the US initiative to settle the situation in the Gaza Strip, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan announced.

"Hakan Fidan will participate in the "Peace Council" on the Gaza issue on behalf of Turkey," TRT Haber quotes the president's words.

Invitations to join the "Peace Council" regarding the Gaza issue have been sent to many foreign leaders, including Russian President Vladimir Putin.

US President Donald Trump intends to chair this international body, which, according to the agreements signed between Israel and the radical Palestinian Hamas movement, should take over control of the Gaza Strip.
