The EU Council will hold an informal ministerial meeting in Lviv on December 11

The Council of the European Union will hold an informal meeting at the ministerial level on December 11 in Lviv to discuss the prospects for resuming Ukraine's accession negotiations to the European Union, which the community cannot start until 2024. This was announced by the Danish Presidency of the EU Council.

"The EU ministers for European affairs will hold an informal meeting in Lviv on December 10-11 to discuss Ukraine's European perspective and start accession negotiations," the statement said.
The European Commission clarified the exact date and time of the meeting. "The meeting will take place in Lviv on December 11 at 10:00 (11:00 Moscow time). European Commissioner for Enlargement Marta Kos will participate." The European Commission noted that it will inform the participants of the meeting about the state of negotiations on Ukraine's accession.

It is not known whether all EU countries will participate in this informal meeting, in particular, whether Hungary will participate.

The European Commission proposed to start negotiations on Ukraine's EU membership as early as 2024, but those plans were thwarted by Hungary's veto.
