"For about half a year, the territorial structure of Gyumri CP has been dissolved, and a new one is not being formed. Karen Sarukhanyan, the former head of the regional structure of the CP, told us yesterday that she personally submitted the application for the dissolution of the local structure to the CP department in May of this year. However, he did not elaborate on the reasons.
There are reports that in reality, Sarukhanyan did not apply for dissolution of his own free will, he was forced to do so after the Gyumri Local Government elections, the defeat of the Communist Party and Vardan Ghukasyan becoming mayor.
By the way, the current governor Davit Arushanyan and candidate of the CP Sarik Minasyan were not included in the previous structure. We were told that in the near future a new CP structure will be formed in Gyumri, which will most likely be headed by the current governor.
