What to do with Aliyev, when he continues to disturb Pashinyan, who is trying with all his might to convince the Armenian society that peace, love and mutual understanding have suddenly been established between Armenia and Azerbaijan? Speaking on the occasion of the 80th anniversary of the National Academy of Sciences of Azerbaijan, Aliyev again demonstrated a unique example of Azerbaijani "peacefulness". "We must return to our historical lands, not with tanks, but with cars... It is enough to look at the maps made by tsarist Russia at the beginning of the 20th century to make sure that most of the place names in the territory of today's Armenia are of Azerbaijani origin.
There is no lake named Sevan in those maps. There is Lake Gojca, and all the historical place names that we use are reflected there. Those maps were not made by us, but by tsarist Russia. The same tsarist Russia that once resettled Armenians from Iran and Eastern Anatolia to our Karabakh lands to change the ethnic and religious composition of the region. In other words, these maps are based on historical realities. Just imagine, they already claim Sevan. And Aliyev makes such statements all the time. Moreover, his speech is still soft compared to his teammates, who do not even hide their willingness to repeat the genocide. The statement about "Azerbaijani Sevan" was so brazen that even Pashinyan's relatives and supporters could not ignore it. There are elections ahead, and in that period it is desirable to please the voters. And if you suddenly manage to like Pashinyan more than Pashinyan, who has become a hostage of the "era of peace" and cannot properly evaluate the words of his colleague Aliyev, then even better.
In the same way, Rubinyan and Simonyan "whispered" something populist in response to Aliyev, for which Azerbaijani officials and the media were offended and began to remind that their job is to "package" the wishes of Azerbaijan for the Armenian people, not to argue with the "king". The scandal matured, and Aliyev's statements about "Azerbaijani Sevan" nevertheless reached the general public, the public that Pashinyan's propaganda diligently "protects" from Aliyev's aggressive narratives, feeding them with fairy tales about "harmless and friendly" Azerbaijan. However, this time Pashinyan could no longer silence the topic.
But Pashinyan remains Pashinyan and found a way out of the situation. Before that, he said that the "damaged" Armenians could not perceive the coming of peace. Now he began to claim that peace is a new and unfamiliar environment not only for Armenia, but also for Azerbaijan. Azerbaijanis are also "damaged" and therefore cannot see peace, even the top leadership.
Thus, a peace has been established that only Pashinyan can see. And the "injured" Aliyev, who does not have such sharp vision, may start shooting again, going out to hunt "Goycha Lake" and "Azerbaijani Irevan". And that too, according to Pashinyan's logic, will be a continuation of the "era of peace", which is simply hard to understand for the two damaged peoples. Aliyev also tried to "pacify" the Armenians.
"The return of Azerbaijanis to current Armenia should not frighten the Armenian people," because, according to him, "Azeris do not create a problem in any country and will not create a problem for any state or people." Get ready, he says, soon those "non-problem" people will come, at first 300 thousand, then more. According to Aliyev, at the beginning of the 20th century, 80% of Yerevan's population was Azerbaijani. They will live in Sevan ("Goycha"), they will occupy the "historical Azerbaijani city" Vardenis ("Basargechar").
And they will surprise everyone with their "education" and "peacefulness". Of course, if you don't argue and transfer everything that will be required. And if you do not fulfill all the demands of the "returned" Azerbaijanis, then, according to Aziz Alekperov, close to Aliyev, "the existence of the Armenian state will be endangered." There was an era of peace in the country...
