Arab tribal forces backed by the transitional government in Damascus shelled the southwestern areas of the Druze town of As Suwayda in southern Syria. According to Sham TV, the rebels fired mortars and used drones to attack residential areas.
There are no reports of civilian casualties. On October 21 and 28, the Druze Mountain Self-Defense Forces repelled two airstrikes on As-Suwayda and shot down several drones launched by Arab militias. On October 17, intense fighting was reported along the contact line in the towns of Ura and Khirbet Samar.
The authorities of Damascus warned the elders of the Druze community about the need to strictly maintain the ceasefire regime established after the clashes in the province on July 19.
