Polling stations for parliamentary elections have opened in the Netherlands

The polling stations for the extraordinary elections of the House of Representatives (the lower house of the parliament) were opened in the Netherlands on Wednesday morning, the correspondent of "RIA Novosti" reports.

Polling stations in the Netherlands opened at 7:30 a.m. (9:30 a.m. Moscow time) on Wednesday, except for mobile polling stations in crowded areas, which opened earlier.

This year mobile polling stations were installed in 50 train stations in the Netherlands. In general, more than 9,000 polling stations were created for voting in the country's parliamentary elections.

In the Netherlands, parliamentary elections are usually held every four years, but in the event of a cabinet collapse, early elections are called.

This year, the citizens of the country will choose the future government from 27 political parties.
