Pakistan has closed its airspace due to Indian military exercises

Pakistan will close its airspace in the states bordering India on October 28 and 29 due to large-scale military exercises in the western Indian states of Rajasthan and Gujarat, The Economic Times reported, citing the Pakistan Civil Aviation Authority (PCAA).

The ban applies to flights by local and foreign airlines in the airspace of Punjab and Sindh provinces. The Russian Aviation Administration (RIAA) has advised airline crews to exercise caution and use alternative flight routes.

Earlier this month, Pakistan extended the ban on flights of Indian aircraft in its airspace till November 23. The ban was imposed on April 24, two days after a terrorist attack in Pahalgam in the Indian union territory of Jammu and Kashmir, in which 25 Indian nationals and one Nepalese were killed.

India has said it has evidence that Pakistan's Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) was involved in the attack.

India has a similar ban on Pakistani civil aircraft.
