"Fact" daily writes:
The list of 1000 large taxpayers provides quite a lot of information about the structure and content of Armenia's economy. According to the latest data, one of the most obvious changes in the first nine months is that, as expected, the Zangezur copper-molybdenum combine returned to the top three, having paid 36.2 billion drams. Let's remind that back in April, the company informed that "on an annual basis, without a doubt, the company will once again occupy leading positions in the list of 1000 large taxpayers".
According to experts' calculations, according to the results of the end of the year, the positions of ZPMK in the list of taxpayers will be higher, as it has been for years. In terms of the structure of the economy, one of the most characteristic data is that the list of large taxpayers is headed by a company engaged in the import, sale and export of equipment. It's about Mobile Center. It should be noted here that another organization in this field, "Pretty Way", is also "at the top", namely in 14th place.
The next remarkable indicator concerns the banks. There are 8 banks in the top fifty of big taxpayers. For comparison, let's note that exactly so are the companies of the production sector. It is no less interesting that there are only two companies engaged in food production in the top 50: "Grand Candy" with about 6.5 billion drams paid tax, and "Athenk" company, the absolute leader in the meat industry, with about 5.8 billion drams. By the way, let's note that the latter built a new factory, which is considered the largest and most technologically equipped production complex in the region. The company plans to increase the number of jobs to 1,500 by the end of the year, and the average salary of employees to 410,000 drams.
As for "utilities", "Gazprom Armenia", as in the same period last year, is in 4th place again this year (it was leading the list in the first half of this year), HEP has also remained the same - in 18th place, and "Veolia Water" is in 45th place (43rd in January-September 2024). As always, the top fifty are also three communication operators: "Viva Armenia", "Yucom" and "Telecom Armenia". By the way, the last two have increased their paid taxes compared to the same period last year, in particular, "Yucom" by about 1.1 billion drams, "Telecom Armenia" by about 1.6 billion drams.
