Well-informed sources of "Zhoghovurd" daily report that about two days before the arrest of the former rector of Pedagogical University Srbuhi Gevorgyan, representatives of the Anti-Corruption Committee also visited the Ministry of Education and Culture. Our sources close to the ministry convey that Minister Zhanna Andreasyan was informed that the board of trustees headed by her found serious abuses in the university, and there is a contract signed by Andreasyan.
Our sources report that Andreasyan panicked, called the staff of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications, the secretary to understand what the contract was about. There was a long discussion, after which the representatives of the Anti-Corruption Committee left the minister's office. Two days later, Srbuhi Gevorgyan, Andreasyan's closest friend, was arrested by the Anti-Corruption Committee, after which she was placed under house arrest in exchange for bail. It is noteworthy that Minister Zhanna Andreasyan, being the chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Pedagogical University, does not have any status within the framework of this case. He is not even a witness.
Meanwhile, as the chairman of the Board of Trustees of YSUBU, Armen Ashotyan remained in custody for about 3 years. Moreover, Zhanna Andreasyan tried to "cleanse" herself from this case yesterday from the NA podium, when Srbuhi Gevorgyan, who was guaranteed by her, made clarifications with her on every issue, and the law enforcement officers know that. Let us remind that on Friday, October 17, the rector and vice-rector of the Armenian State Pedagogical University named after Khachatur Abovyan were arrested within the framework of the criminal proceedings carried out by the Anti-Corruption Committee. The latter are accused of creating and managing a criminal organization composed of various employees of the university, committing especially large-scale waste and fraud, as well as accepting bribes.
A number of other employees of the university were also arrested as part of the criminal proceedings. And the head of the education news and research department of KZNAK (National Center for Education Development and Innovations), known for the scandal, Lilit Mkrtchyan, was appointed as the rector of the Pedagogical University.
