The astronomers using the cosmic telescope of James Web took a new step in the study of one of the most promising "second countries", Trappist-1E exoper. Scientists have analyzed the atmosphere of the planet and exclude a number of possible scenarios. The work was published in The Astrophysical Journal Letters (AJL).
Trappist-1e rotates around the red dwarf star, located only 40 light years away from the country and is located in the residential area, at a distance from the star, on the surface can exist.
The new data show that the planet cannot have a water-rich atmosphere, and it is unlikely that it has a dense carbonist, like Venus or Mars. However, the atmosphere based on a hot nitrogen like Saturn's satellite Titani remains possible.
"Trappist-1E remains one of the most interesting candidates for residentiality, and our results are closer to the understanding of what kind of world it is," Sarah Siger said.
