NATO International Emergency Management Exercises are taking place in Bulgaria, which are attended by more than a thousand people from several dozen countries, the Bulgarian National Radio (Charg) reports.

The official opening of "Bulgaria 2025" exercises took place at Erden village of Erden, Montana, located in the northwestern country. NATO Deputy Secretary General Radmila Shekeresca and Bulgarian Interior Minister Daniel Therov took part in the ceremony.

"A huge job will be performed on crisis situations, modeling earthquakes, terrorist attacks, and, of course, other scenarios, which will test not only NATO but also the beneficiaries of Bulgarian institutions," he said.

The exercise will last until September 12. About 1,200 representatives of more than 40 countries and organizations are participating.
