A new medicine has been developed to combat stable flu strains

The combination of two materials, one of which is the tobromium received from chocolate, has been more effective than Tamiflu in the fight against swine flu. This conclusion was the scientists of the Hebrew University of Jerusalem. According to them, the new drug can even suppress even virus resistant strains. The study was published in PNAS magazine.

The team led by Professor Shay Arkin worked on the development. Instead of being directly attacked on the virus, scientists have offered a new approach, the M2 ion channel blocks, which the virus must be reproduced. This allows you to bypass viral resistance to drugs.

Ion waves are protein complexes with pores, which maintain the difference between potentials (electric voltage) between the foreign and internal parties of the mobile membrane.

The combination of theobromin and Arainosin has shown high efficiency in both laboratory tests and studies on animals. The new drug was stronger and more durable than the Oiltamivami, especially against the most important and difficult-tempered strains.

According to researchers, this approach can be universal. Similar ion waves are available in many viruses, including coronaviruses. The processing was transferred to the Viroblock Startup, which will conduct clinical trials. Scientists hope that the new drug will mark the beginning of the completely new class of antivirus drugs, more resistant mutations and capable of influencing a wide range of infections.
