Have been named microaries whose deficiency can sharpen arthritis

There is a decrease in the level of Selen, Zinc, iron and vanadium in the blood of the loved ones of the knee and conquered joints. This conclusion was reached by Sechenov University scientists from China together with their colleagues. The results of the study were published in the Biological Trace Research (Bter) magazine.

More than 300 women's health data analysis has shown that in the case of osteoarthritis, the level of Selen and zinc in the blood decreases by an average of 7-9%, and the iron level is up to 18%. Especially expressed deviations were observed in patients with injuries to both knee and concential joints.

Even with factors such as age, overweight and chronic diseases, the reduction in Selen and Vanadium also maintained a statistically significant connection with osteoarthritis. According to scientists, these elements play an important role in the protection of the joints. They are participating in the shape of the hoghdrogenesis (cartilage tissue) and the maintenance of antioxidant activity, protecting cells from oxidation.

According to the authors, the deficiency of microelements can increase the oxidative stress and inflammatory reaction in joints' tissue, thus contributing to the progress of the disease. The resulting data may be the basis for the prevention of osteoarthritis and new approaches to early diagnosis.

Researchers believe that the correction of deficiency with the help of personalized microelements can slow down the development of the disease. However, in order to confirm this version, additional tests are needed with the participation of a larger number of volunteers.
