Under what circumstances was the minor injured by a gunshot?

Gor Abrahamyan, press secretary of the RA Investigative Committee, issued a statement regarding the rumors about a minor being shot at school.


"On October 14, a report was received that in the military science class of School No. 93 in Yerevan, one minor was taken to medical aid with the diagnosis of "injury of the right thigh" from a bullet fired from an air rifle. Initial reports indicate that the injury was caused by an accidental discharge of an air rifle by another student in a military science classroom.


On the occasion of 2024 On October 15, a criminal proceeding was initiated in the Ajapnyak and Davtashen administrative districts of the Yerevan City Investigation Department of the RA Investigative Committee under Article 167, Part 2, Clauses 4 and 8 of the RA Criminal Code. During the preliminary investigation, the injured minor was recognized as a victim and questioned. The latter was discharged from the hospital earlier. The teacher of military science was also questioned.


Forensic and forensic examinations were appointed. The air rifle was confiscated by the body conducting the proceedings to perform the necessary possible evidentiary and procedural actions. The investigation is ongoing. Measures were taken in order to find out the circumstances of the incident, to give legal value to the actions of the persons involved in the incident. At this time, there is no information regarding the use of a FIREARMS during the mentioned incident or the minor being injured by gunshots.
