Indirect talks between the delegations of Washington and Tehran over the nuclear deal took place at the Embassy Embassy in Rome. The Iranian team was headed by Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi, American, Donald Trump Special Envoy Steve Whitkoff.
The Foreign Minister of the Islamic Republic said that the negotiations on the principles and goals of the possible nuclear program have reached mutual understanding, after which the third round of discussions between Tehran and Washington teams will continue.
"Today's meeting was constructive and effective, progress is being made," said Abbas Araghchi.
The previous round of talks took place in Oman, the parties stressed the importance of dialogue and diplomacy. However, the US President did not rule out that in case of failure of the deal, military action against Iran could have been taken against Iran.
