The trial of a doctor accused of killing 15 people has started in Berlin

The trial of a palliative care doctor accused of killing at least 15 patients has started in the German capital on Monday. The case is being heard in the Berlin District Court, which has scheduled 35 sessions until January 28, 2006.

According to the investigation, the 40-year-old man killed patients from September 2021 to July 2024.

He injected them an anesthetic and muscular soothing remedy. The latter led to breathing muscles, then, respiratory stops and death. The first and the youngest victim was 25 years old, the oldest, 94. Law enforcement currently investigates 75 suspicious cases, so the victims may be much more.

The prosecutor's office believes that the doctor acted "motivated by" unfounded motives "by killing people in helpless. The suspect is in prerequisite in August 2024.
