Abkhazia will close the land border with Georgia

Abkhazia will suspend the work of the Abkhazian-Georgian border checkpoint from October 23 to October 30 due to possible provocations during the elections in Georgia. The State Security Service of Abkhazia reports this, RIA Novosti reports.

It is clarified that the decision to temporarily close the Ingur checkpoint was taken in connection with the possible provocations of radical forces during the parliamentary elections to be held in Georgia on October 26.

The press service added that exceptions will be made for citizens of the republic returning to Abkhazia and persons with residence permits who previously entered Georgia legally.
