Musk considered it expensive to go to a business dinner in Oslo

American entrepreneur and owner of social network X Elon Musk refused to come to dinner with the head of the Norwegian oil fund Norges Bank Investment Management, Nikolai Tangen, because it was allegedly too expensive for him to get to Oslo. The Norwegian newspaper E24 wrote about this.

The publication obtained correspondence between Tangen and Musk. The Norwegian invited the American in advance to a business dinner in Oslo, which is scheduled for April 28, 2025. It will be attended by executives from Ferrari, Novo Nordisk, Nestle, DoorDash, Adidas and others.

Musk initially accepted the invitation and responded that it “sounds great,” but it later became known that he would not be on the guest list.

“He said it would be difficult and expensive for him to participate,” Marte Skor, the oil fund’s communications director, told the newspaper.

The publication recalled that in the summer the relationship between Tangen and Musk deteriorated.

On Thursday, October 17, it became known that Elon Musk was not included in the short list of candidates for the Sakharov Prize from the European Parliament (EP), despite the nomination.

Earlier, an American journalist said that Elon Musk periodically goes into “demon mode.”
