The international film festival "Eurasia-Kinofest" opened in Moscow

The international film festival "Eurasia-Kinofest" opened in the capital's Mossovet Theater, RIA Novosti correspondent reports.

“I have the honor to declare the first Eurasian film festival open,” said the president of the film festival, director Tigran Keosayan, at the ceremony.

He emphasized that Eurasia is a huge continent, which is filled with a large number of peoples with a unique culture, and this film festival “has only one goal - for us to know again who we are and what we are.”

The opening ceremony was attended by famous Russian artists Valery Barinov, Larisa Luzhina, Natalya Bondarchuk, Yuri Nazarov, Emmanuel Vitorgan, Elena Valyushkina, Yuri Chernov, Yuri Belyaev, Natalya Bochkareva, Marina Zudina, Olga Kabo, Raisa Ryazanova, as well as guests from the participating countries. In total, more than 250 filmmakers from 18 countries came to Moscow during the festival, including Azerbaijan, Armenia, Belarus, Georgia, India, Kazakhstan, China, Kyrgyzstan, Moldova, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan.

"Eurasia-Kinofest" is a forum of film industry workers from the countries of the Eurasian space, the purpose of which is to awaken among viewers interest in the history of their country, traditional and cultural values, as well as professional support for talented filmmakers. The organizer is AHO "Eurasia".

“The organization itself very firmly defends the platform of traditional values, which is enshrined in our Constitution of the Russian Federation. And we are confident that our large Eurasian family also strives to support and develop traditional values, including in cinema,” she told reporters First Deputy Chairman of the State Duma Committee on Education of the Russian Federation, Chairman of the Council of ANO "Eurasia" Alena Arshinova.

The competition program will feature feature-length, short and documentary films reflecting military-historical events, international relations, culture, sports, problems of modern society and much more. Screenings will take place in the Khudozhestvenny and Illusion cinemas and in the Central House of Cinematographers.

At the closing ceremony, which will take place on October 21, the winners will receive the main prize of the film festival - the Eurasia figurine, symbolizing the cultural exchange between people living in the countries of the continent.
