The voting for extraordinary parliamentary elections ended in Canada on Monday. According to the Canadian Electoral Commission, the latest polling stations were closed at 19:00 local time.
The 45th elections in the Chamber of Communities (the lower house of parliament) took place in Canada on Monday. The struggle is for 343 mandates. The winner must receive 172 seats to form a majoritarian government.
The leader of the winning party will become the country's prime minister. The next elections were to be held in October 2025, but former Prime Minister Justin Trew resigned from the post of government leader and the leader of the ruling Liberal Party of Canada, his successor Karni announced on April 28.
Currently, the ruling "liberal party" of Canada has 51% of votes, and the "Conservative Party" of the opposition Canada has 39%. The rest of the parties, not more than 4% of the votes.
