A test has been named to accidentally discover kidney cancer

Kidney cancer can be found by accident, such as urine tests or ultrasound. CT, MRI and Biopsy are usually used to clarify the diagnosis, "Medicina" OJSC Oncologist Ruslan Basanov (Academician Roytsberg Clinic) told "Gazeta.ru".

"Usually, malignant kidney tumors do not show symptoms unless they reached the in-depth phase. In most cases, malignant tumors are accidentally found during ultrasound research (USA) or urine tests, while the patient does not feel any symptoms and its general condition remains well. The added contents of protein and red blood cells (erythrocytes) usually have to worry about the urine, "said the doctor.

Kidney cancer is a dangerous disease, in which the kidney develops a malignant tumor, which can eventually penetrate nearby tissues and organs. Without treatment, the disease often leads to death, but the possibilities of recovering in time are significantly increasing.

"The sooner the disease is diagnosed, the greater the probability of successful treatment. In the initial stages, the tumor is limited to the kidney, but along with the development of the disease, it can go out of the organ and affect other tissues and organs, as well as the lymph nodes, significantly deteriorating the forecast. The forecast for survival depends on the stage of the disease. In the early stages, a 5-year survival can reach 80%, and in late stages, only 8%. These figures emphasize the need for regular medical examinations and early detection of the disease, "the doctor added.

The causes of kidney cancer include poor working conditions, smoking and chronic kidney diseases such as kidney polycystem or pyelonephritis. Hereditary factors and metabolism disorders can also play a role in the development of this disease.
