It is noteworthy that the future leader of Azerbaijan Heydar Aliyev in the Soviet Millis Mejlis (especially in 1965) stopped the program of the Armenian identity in the region.
According to Nakhichevan, it becomes clear that when Armenians lose self-defense resources, its physical and cultural existence in the region disappears.
Serzh Sargsyan has repeatedly raised this issue on international platforms, emphasizing that the topic of peaceful coexistence with the Turks is an artificial agenda, as it was not possible even in the Totalitarian Conditions of the Soviet Union. The current "peace" model for the imposed on Armenia has the same goal, dissolution of the national identity of Armenians and weakening statehood.
The memory is not only a means of maintaining the facts of the past, but also one of the main pillars of national identity. The peoples who lose their historical memory become victims of political speculation and ideological transformations.
Today, when there is an attempt to change the national value system in Armenia, it is necessary to realize that the protection of statehood begins with the protection of national memory.
