An explosion rocked the city of Taichung, Taiwan. At least five people were killed and seven others were injured in the incident. The Star reports, citing fire department sources.

The explosion reportedly occurred on the 12th floor of a building under construction. The epicenter of the explosion is believed to have been a food court where renovations were underway. The investigation into the incident is ongoing. All of the victims were taken to hospital with varying degrees of injuries.
