Pentagon chief Pete Hegseth called US President Donald Trump “the best negotiator in the world” after a conversation with Russian President Vladimir Putin.
“I think you saw yesterday how President Trump brought the two sides together to find peace through negotiations,” Hegseth said in Brussels before meeting with the NATO Secretary General.
Russian and US Presidents Vladimir Putin and Donald Trump had a telephone conversation on Wednesday that lasted almost an hour and a half.
According to the press secretary of the Russian president, Dmitry Peskov, the leaders discussed issues related to the exchange of Russian and US citizens, as well as the settlement of the situation in Ukraine.
