The Ukrainian Defense Ministry has announced the start of the recruitment of men aged 18 to 24 for contract service. According to TASS, this is stated in a statement published on the department’s website.
“Today, the Ukrainian Defense Ministry officially launched the “Contract 18-24” project,” the text says. The contract for 1 million hryvnia (about $24,000) is concluded for 1 year. salary, education at state expense, free medical care, in particular dental prosthetics, and the right to travel abroad after one year of service.” The Ministry of Defense claims that at the end of the contract, a 12-month deferment from conscription will be granted.
Earlier, Major of the Ukrainian Army Reserve Alexei Getman expressed the opinion that the contracts for involving young people who have not yet reached the draft age in the Armed Forces are an intermediate stage, after which conscription of 18-year-olds will be announced in Ukraine.
