European countries do not expect the United States to make serious commitments on the issue of Ukraine after this week's meetings, despite the participation of high-ranking US administration officials. This was reported by the Euractiv portal, citing European diplomats.
"We are concerned that, obviously, as on all other issues, what we discuss and agree with our American partners is valid only as long as Trump does not change his mind," one of the sources told the publication.
Diplomats say that Europe does not expect much from contacts with its American partners, despite the fact that this week Trump's special envoy for Ukraine and Russia, Keith Kellogg, US Vice President Vance and Pentagon chief Pete Hegsett will visit the region.
