In a conversation with journalists, the Speaker of the National Assembly, Alen Simonyan, expressed confidence that in the context of unblocking communications in the region, Azerbaijan will call any road connecting Nakhichevan a “corridor”.
“Whatever road it is, whether we imagine it in the best way or they imagine it badly, they will call it a “corridor”. Let’s fix that. Even if there are 0 privileges, they will still call it a corridor in political terms.
A “corridor”, which will not be under the sovereignty of the Republic of Armenia, will be outside our legislation and is unacceptable to us.
Whatever happens, whatever it turns out in the end, they will say that we got our “corridor”. When they need it, they give their interpretation however they want,” he said.
According to Alen Simonyan, the conversation about the “corridor” began because the goal was to bring in Russian troops so that they could control the so-called “corridor”.
