China executes man found guilty in 2024 in the killing of 35 people by running over them with a car in November, Xinhua agency reports. Fan Weiqiu, 62, also injured dozens of people during the attack when he drove into a crowd of people exercising near a stadium in Zhuhai. Fan Weiqiu was found guilty and sentenced to death in December.
According to Chinese state media, another man was executed for another crime that he committed days after the above crime. 21-year-old Shu Jiajin stabbed 8 people to death at the university in Wuxi city.
According to Chinese authorities, Fan Wenqiu committed the crime because he was unhappy with the way his property was distributed after his divorce, while Shu Jiajin committed the attack because he failed to get a diploma due to failing his exams.
