The newly elected US President Donald Trump has ordered a telephone conversation with Russian leader Vladimir Putin, CNN reports, citing informed sources.
"President-elect Donald Trump instructed his aides to organize a telephone conversation with Russian President Vladimir Putin in the days following the inauguration," the publication says.
According to the channel, Trump intends to discuss the possibility of a personal meeting with Putin in the coming months in order to "try to end the war in Ukraine." It is not yet clear whether the specific date of the conversation has been agreed upon, CNN added.
