Doctor of political sciences, professor, energy security expert Vahe Davtyan wrote on his Facebook page:
"If you don't mind, let's talk a little textbook.
Since yesterday, the Armenian information field has been flooded with discourse about the establishment of Armenian-American strategic relations. In any case, this is how the government and close-government media and palace "experts" present the charter signed between Yerevan and Washington.
While:
1. In order to establish strategic relations in international relations, a clearly formed and functioning legal contract base is necessary.
2. the establishment of strategic relations is preceded by a negotiation process, from labor negotiations to those held between the first persons (let me remind you that N. Pashinyan has never been admitted to the White House),
3. the agreement on strategic relations is signed by the first person of the country, in all other cases we are dealing with a document of secondary importance (statute, memorandum, etc.),
4. the agreement signed by the first persons of the country enters into force only after ratification by the legislative bodies of those countries.
In this sense, the charter signed between Yerevan and the outgoing US administration has an exclusively political-technological, very short-term informational significance.
And if you have doubts in this regard, remember what important international agreements and treaties Trump withdrew from the US signature during his first presidency (Paris Climate Agreement, UN Human Rights Council, etc.)".
