Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan received the delegation led by Secretary of the Supreme National Security Council of the Islamic Republic of Iran Ali Akbar Ahmadian.
The Prime Minister considered it symbolic that Mr. Ahamadiyan is the first high-ranking foreign official to visit our country in the new year and added that it emphasizes the importance and deep nature of Armenia-Iran relations.
Nikol Pashinyan added that there is one unshakable guarantee in the relations between the two countries.
Armenia and Iran are connected by natural interests. The Prime Minister emphasized the interest of the RA Government to consistently develop and expand bilateral cooperation in all directions. Ali Akbar Ahmadian thanked the Prime Minister for the reception and conveyed the warm greetings of the President of the Republic of Iran Masoud Pezeshkian.
The Secretary of the Supreme National Security Council of the Republic of Iran emphasized that the rich cultural past between Armenia and Iran and the warm contacts between the two peoples give confidence that the mutually beneficial cooperation will continue to strengthen and deepen.
The interlocutors discussed issues related to the dynamic development of bilateral relations and expressed belief that the parties have new opportunities for cooperation, including in technology, industry, energy, agriculture, infrastructure, road construction and other fields.
The development of cooperation with the Iranian side in the direction of the construction of the North-South highway was emphasized.
In the context of unblocking the regional transport routes, reference was made to the "Crossroads of Peace" project of the RA Government. Ali Akbar Ahmadian noted that Iran supports the implementation of the above-mentioned project based on its principles.
