Turkish Interior Minister Ali Yerlikaya has stated that after the change of power in Syria, the rate of return of Syrians to their homeland has accelerated sharply, their number has reached 52,600 in the last month.
"Until December 8, 2024, when the government changed in Syria, an average of 11,000 people returned to the country every month. This is the data for the 11 months before December of last year.
Immediately after the change of power in Damascus, these numbers increased dramatically. During the past month, 52,600 people voluntarily returned to Syria," the minister told reporters at the Gilvegezu checkpoint in Hatay province.
