The President of the Republic Vahagn Khachaturyan received the Head of the European Union Delegation to Armenia, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Vasilis Maragos.
Welcoming the ambassador, the president congratulated him on the occasion of the New Year and sent his best wishes.
"The year 2024 was unique in terms of Armenia-EU relations. In fact, it was a year of achievements for us in terms of the development of bilateral relations, and the problems that we set before us are really being solved. The atmosphere in the context of building our relations is positive and is mutually understandable and acceptable. I can assure you that we are ready and will continue to make efforts to expand the scope of our cooperation. I hope that in 2025 it will be a year of new successes and achievements," President Khachaturyan said.
Thanking the ambassador for the reception, he noted. "I would like to thank you for your personal support and interest in the strengthening of EU-Armenia relations. The open and directed approach shown during the last year was very important for the achievements you mentioned. I hope that we can continue this year rely on your support and goodwill.
I would like to personally send my best wishes to you and the Armenian people, may it be a year of success, achievements, and peace. The EU is committed to its efforts to establish peace and stability in the region. We are committed to further strengthening EU-Armenia relations."
During the meeting, Ambassador Maragos presented to the President and summarized the delegation's activities and implemented programs during the past year.
The parties also discussed the upcoming projects and the possibilities of further development of cooperation.
In his speech, the President of the Republic emphasized Armenia's readiness to promote multi-layered cooperation with the European Union and expressed hope that new achievements will be registered in the fields of mutual interest in the beginning of the year.
