Karen Grigoryan scored 9 points out of 13 possible in the 2024 World Rapid Chess Championship and shared the 4th-9th positions, according to the Armenian Chess Federation.

In the 11th and 12th rounds, Grigoryan defeated China's Wei Yi, ranked above 2700, and Azerbaijan's Shahriyar Mamedyarov, and in the last round, he drew with the championship champion Volodar Murzin.

Shant Sargsyan and Hayk Martirosyan, who scored 8 points, are also among the prize-winners of Armenian chess players.
