On December 20, RA Minister of Foreign Affairs Ararat Mirzoyan received UN Resident Coordinator in Armenia Fghansuaz Jacob.
The interlocutors referred to the main directions of cooperation between Armenia and the United Nations and the joint programs implemented within them. preparations for the upcoming 17th Conference of the Parties to the UN Convention on Biological Diversity (COP17) and issues of cooperation with relevant UN structures.
Ararat Mirzoyan and Fghansuaz Jacob exchanged thoughts on the issues of ensuring the effectiveness of UN activities against the background of current geopolitical developments, in line with the organization's mandate and goals.
The steps taken to implement the UN's sustainable development goals were also discussed.
At the meeting, the steps aimed at addressing the long-term needs of the forcibly displaced Armenians from Nagorno Karabakh and the issues of interaction with international partners in this direction were discussed.
