Bangladesh plans to buy a batch of J-10C fighter jets from China

Bangladesh's caretaker government is considering buying the export option of J-10C fighter jets from China to modernize the national air force. This is reported by the South China Morning Post.

The possible purchase of Chinese fighter jets by Bangladesh may strain its relations with neighboring India and cause significant costs, given the difficult situation of the Bangladeshi economy, the publication notes.

Currently, Bangladesh is the second arms buyer from China after Pakistan, which was the first country to purchase Chinese J-10C 4.5 generation multirole fighter jets.

The J-10CE Vigorous Dragon fighter jet is a 4.5 generation multi-role combat aircraft designed to achieve air superiority and attack ground targets.
