China calls for lifting long-term sanctions against Syria

The international community should seek the lifting of long-standing unilateral sanctions against Syria and support its territorial integrity. This was announced by Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi.

"The international community must effectively protect Syria's sovereignty and territorial integrity, respect its national and religious traditions, and allow the Syrian people to make their own decisions," the Chinese foreign minister emphasized to his Egyptian counterpart. in a conversation with journalists after meeting with colleague Badr.

"All countries must work together to reach out to Syria and achieve the lifting of illegal unilateral sanctions that have been imposed on it for many years."

As Wang Yi explained, the world community will thus be able to alleviate the difficult humanitarian situation of this Middle Eastern country.

"Recently, the situation in Syria has become dramatically complicated, and the Chinese side is paying great attention to it," he added.
