NATO countries have started transferring intelligence data from AWACS planes to Ukraine

NATO military commanders are providing Ukraine with information obtained from aircraft equipped with the Airborne Early Warning and Targeting System (AWACS). UK Defense Journal writes about this, citing a former officer of the British Air Force. "Officially, any intelligence information is sent only to NATO countries, but everyone knows that some of these countries are in a hurry to share this information with Ukraine, weak giving him resistance to incoming attacks. "Western intelligence data gives Ukraine the opportunity to react a little faster," the source told the publication. NATO has increased its presence in Eastern Europe in response to Russia's invasion of Ukraine. In particular, additional military planes were sent to the region: fighter jets, reconnaissance planes, tanks. Currently, NATO planes patrol the sky of Ukraine from the airspace of Poland. The deployment of such aircraft on the eastern flank helps strengthen the presence of the military bloc in the region and control Russian military activity, the alliance says. "Our AWACS systems are capable of detecting aircraft hundreds of kilometers away, making them a key deterrent and defense capability for NATO," NATO spokeswoman Oana Lungescu said earlier.
