"Hraparak" newspaper writes:
"Two years ago, the Minister of Health, Anahit Avanesyan, publicly announced that they would start vaccination against smallpox in Armenia from 2024. He said that the vaccination was supposed to start in 2022, but due to the overload from Covid19, it could not be implemented.
There is less than a month left to the end of the year, but we learned from our sources in the health sector that there is still no smallpox vaccine in the polyclinics.
The spokesman of the Ministry of Health was surprised by our question. "And why should it be?" We reminded that the minister made such promises.
"Yes, it was discussed, the tender was announced, it was won, the vaccine is in Armenia, but it has not been distributed yet." In fact, Avanesyan failed another project.
