The US has announced that the cease-fire agreement around Lebanon will become permanent

The cease-fire agreement between Israel and Lebanon will become permanent, rather than limited to a 60-day transitional period. US special envoy to the region, President Joe Biden's emissary Amos Hoxtin stated this in an exclusive interview with Qatar's Al Jazeera TV channel.

"These ceasefire agreements are permanent, it's not for 60 days. This is a permanent ceasefire that starts at 4 am local time in Beirut," the special envoy said.

According to him, the Israeli military, which is located on Lebanese soil two to three kilometers from the border, will remain in place for now, and "when the Lebanese army redeploys to the south, the Israeli troops will leave."

"The first parts of the Israeli troops will leave in the next few days or in the first two weeks, and gradually, within 60 days, they will all leave," Hochstein said.
