Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan announced that primary elections for the mayor of Gyumri will be held on December 8, 9, 10.
"All the experts say that it will not be possible to overcome the governance crisis established in Gyumri without the intervention of the Prime Minister and that intervention will take place in the following. as a result of legislative changes to be adopted in the near future, I have to appoint a temporary acting mayor in Gyumri. After discussing with the CP administration, I came to the conclusion that I should make an appointment there, not by a single administrative decision, and for that purpose, preliminary voting or preliminary elections will be held in Gyumri in the near future.
