What changes are being made in the Law on Cumulative Pension? Clarification of the Deputy President of the Central Bank

The main project has three parts, one is that we are taking opportunities to invest in Armenia in the same risk class, which was 10%, directly investing in 10%. Today, on November 25, Central Security Deputy Chairman Armen Nurbekyan mentioned this in a conversation with journalists at the National Assembly.

"Before this change, if they wanted to make a direct investment in a company, they had to do it through a fund. Now, without increasing the overall risk, we give them the opportunity to make those investments, which we think will lead to projects.

Secondly, if before this change the maximum investment amount in one country was 15%, say, for example in the USA, in this case we give the opportunity to make it 30%.

The main meaning of this is that the weight of the US in the capital market in the world is very large and that 15% does not allow for proper diversification.

The third change referred to the fact that if it was possible to invest in stocks up to this 25%, now we leave it to become 35%, we give a little more room to work.

As a result, the risk will not increase, but the average return will increase by 0.4 percentage points," he said, clarifying that these funds can invest in all sectors.
