The Secretary General of OPEC said that the demand for oil in 2024 will increase by 2.2 million barrels per day

2024 oil demand will increase by 2.2 million barrels per day (b/d) and will continue to grow steadily, OPEC Secretary General Haysam Al-Ghais said in his speech at the Petersburg International Economic Forum (IEFF). "As for this year, we expect that oil demand will increase by 2.2 million b/o. As a rule, the first quarter is always the worst quarter of the year, when the demand is the lowest," he said, adding that he expects stable and high demand for oil in the world in the future. OPEC Secretary General noted that the organization's forecast for 2023 about oil demand was more accurate, and "those who were critical had to adjust their forecasts almost every month until finally their forecast was even." Petersburg International Economic Conference began on June 5 and will continue until June 8 . The topic is "The foundation of a multipolar world is the formation of new growth points." Meetings of small and medium-sized enterprises, creative business leaders, PMTS Youth Day, as well as "Drug Safety", "PMTS Academy" and "PMTS Junior" conferences are planned.
