The newly elected US President Donald Trump has announced the appointment of Caroline Leavitt as White House press secretary. This is stated in the statement of the Republican transition team, according to Telegram channels.

Levitt previously served as Trump's campaign spokesman and was an assistant press secretary in his previous administration.

Levitt, 27, will become the youngest White House press secretary, surpassing the record held by Ron Ziegler, who took the job under President Richard Nixon at age 29.
