The Israeli army established control over the Beaufort fortress of the crusaders in Lebanon. Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz wrote about this on his X page.
"Forty-four years after the heroic Battle of Beaufort, and on the day of remembrance of the victims of the Peace of Galilee war, including the Golani soldiers who died in the Battle of Beaufort, the soldiers of the Israel Defense Forces, led by the Golan Brigade, returned to the top of Beaufort and raised the flags of Israel and Golani there again."
At the behest of Prime Minister Netanyahu and myself, TSAKHAL expanded maneuvers in Lebanon, crossed the Litani River and captured the Beaufort mountain range, one of the most important strategic points for the protection of the Galilee settlements and the security of our troops. Today, the secrecy imposed on the operation, which was established in order to deprive the enemy of information, was removed," wrote Katz.
