The president of Abkhazia made a new statement

The President of Abkhazia, Aslan Bzhania, came out to his supporters and announced that he will remain in his position.

"The president of the republic, the prime minister, heads of ministries and departments remain in their places and will continue to work. Please do not give in to provocations, I will stay in Abkhazia and work as before," said Bzhania.

Bzhania also noted that negotiations are currently underway with the opposition and thanked "all civilians and people in uniform" for their support.

On Friday, the Abkhazian opposition occupied the complex of government buildings in Abkhazia and demanded the resignation of the president of the republic, Aslan Bzhania, who, after meeting with negotiators, took time to think.

The opposition has also created a coordinating council to resolve the political crisis and negotiate with the authorities of the republic. In the evening, the oppositionists occupying the complex of government buildings have already dismantled the sign with the name of President Bzhania from the door of his office.
