US President Joe Biden has signed the law passed by American congressmen, which prohibits the import of uranium from Russia, the White House reports, international media reports."On Monday, May 13, 2024, the president signed the law on banning the import of uranium from Russia, which prohibits the import of non-irradiated, low-enriched uranium," the statement said.

On April 30, the US Senate approved the bill HR 1042, which prohibits the import of uranium from Russia. The document approved by the US House of Representatives in December was then sent to Biden for his signature.

The law will enter into force 90 days after its adoption. It implies a ban on the import of low-enriched uranium produced in Russia or by one of the enterprises registered there. The impact of the law is calculated until 2040.
